Jarvas
Gatlin
Mar 2, 1979 — Jun 21, 2026
In Loving Memory of Jarvas
Jarvas was born on March 2, 1979, to the late Dorothy Ann Thomas and Edward Gatlin. From an early age, he was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and caring nature. He received his education in the Miami-Dade County Public School system and later built a career as a security guard. Jarvas was respected for his dependability, professionalism, and strong work ethic. More importantly, he was a devoted son, a loving brother, a loyal friend, and a compassionate man whose warmth touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Jarvas found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved listening to people's stories, preparing meals for family and friends, and spending quality time with those he loved most. His thoughtfulness was reflected in countless acts of kindness, including making sure his brother always had a Pepsi. No gesture was ever too small for Jarvas, and helping others brought him genuine happiness.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dorothy Ann Thomas and Edward Gatlin, and his brother, Kem Romer.
Jarvas leaves to cherish his loving memory his siblings: Sheila, Keith, Karen, Kelvin, Charles Jr. (Tammy), Kevin, Derek (Cathy), Darren (Shonka), Lloyd (Teshia), Junior, and Octavia. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many treasured friends.
Although Jarvas had no biological children, he lovingly embraced his nieces, Latoya and Takebia, as his daughters. He was a constant source of strength, laughter, comfort, guidance, and encouragement to everyone blessed to know him. His generous heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering willingness to help others created a legacy that will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we celebrate a life well lived and a man deeply loved. Jarvas will forever be remembered for his kindness, selflessness, infectious smile, and the countless memories he created with family and friends. His love will remain in our hearts forever, and his legacy will continue to live on through all whose lives he touched.
