Joanne Nichols was born on April 10, 1954 in Pahokee, FL to the late Corrine Paul Nichols and Willie Nichols II. Joanne was affectionately called "Nunk" by her family. She later moved to Dania Beach, FL where she met and married the late Tommy Johnson Sr. from this union she gave birth to her two beautiful children Sharonda Burnett Johnson and Tommy Apslon Johnson Jr.   Joanne was educated in the Broward County School system and received her diploma from Hollywood Hills High School in 1970. She went on to work diligently at her alma mater Attucks High as a clerical assistant and later on she found her passion working for the City of Dania as a director engineer of grounds she dedicated 25 years to ensuring that Dania cemetery grounds were well kept. Joanne was the eldest of six children leaving behind to cherish the memories her loving siblings Willie Nichols, Eugene Nichols, Rhonda Campbell (Gregory), James Lee Nichols (Sunja), and Dorothy Nichols, also left behind to continue her legacy are her dearest children Sharonda Johnson, and Tommy Johnson Jr.(Kiyoko) Three grandchildren Shaquanda Johnson, Jerel Bullard, and Keiya Johnson. Eleven great grandchildren Rashard Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Taina Bullard, Kyel Bullard, Jerel Bullard Jr., Juliana Bullard, Alaina Bullard, Robert Lee Bullard, and Ja'Nessa Bullard,Alexis & Angel Bullard. Joanne also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.
